It was my good fortune to have met Keith Frye. He was a mentor, and a friend. Keith was also a partner in creating A-Tone Audio & Visual Enterprises in Westland Michigan.

I met Keith Frye in 1967 when I started at WYNZ radio in Ypsilanti. Keith was already a seasoned audio engineer at the station and had a popular Rock radio show called “Breakout! with Keeter” Monday through Saturday at 6pm.

Keith also hosted a show called The Westland Reporter. He interviewed local business owners, The Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and Veterans groups, as well as reporting the news and politics around town.

Everyone at the station was tasked with teaching us station operations. Keith taught us about the equipment.
Keith was involved in a talent production company called BobKe Enterprises. His partner was producer Bob Hall. They managed and promoted local bands like the Bad Seeds, the Penlulems, and others. They booked talent into local clubs and at events happening around town.
